BOOK INFO

Synopsis: Crime lives--and dies--in the deceptively picture-perfect town of Port Gamble (aka “Empty Coffin”), Washington. Evil lurks and strange things happen--and 15-year-olds Hayley and Taylor Ryan secretly use their wits and their telepathic “twin-sense” to uncover the truth about the town's victims and culprits.

Envy, the series debut, involves the mysterious death of the twins' old friend, Katelyn. Was it murder? Suicide? An accident? Hayley and Taylor are determined to find out--and as they investigate, they stumble upon a dark truth that is far more disturbing than they ever could have imagined.

Synopsis: It happened so fast, the way awful things almost always do.
The blade of a knife flew at Olivia, burying itself in her throat. It came with speed and fury. Only her killer knew the irony of her last words.

That bloody hurts.

When foreign exchange student Olivia Grant is stabbed to death at a party, the accusations fly through Port Gamble faster than Twitter trending. Fingers point at frenemy Brianna and her dim-witted boyfriend, Drew. But loner and host roommate Beth Lee may also have an ax to grind, which sends her best friends Hayley and Taylor Ryan down a twisted path to clear her name—only to discover a tangled web of shocking secrets about all of them.

Synopsis: Lately strange things have been happening to Daire Santos. Animals follow her, crows mock her, and glowing people appear out of nowhere. Worried that Daire is having a nervous breakdown, her mother packs her off to stay in the dusty plains of Enchantment, New Mexico with a grandmother she’s never met.

There she crosses paths with Dace, a gorgeous guy with unearthly blue eyes who she’s encountered before...but only in her dreams. And she’ll get to know her grandmother—a woman who recognizes Daire’s bizarre episodes for what they are. A call to her true destiny as a Soul Seeker, one who can navigate between the worlds of the living and the dead. 1. These look like good books! I've just started a new series called War Of The Fae. The first book did not have any romance in it other than some flirting, but I am pretty sure a romance is about to begin between the main character and one of two guys in the book!

    1. NO! Resist that impulse! If it begins, let it develop naturally, but don't push just to add romance; that comes off as contrived and then those of us like me (admittedly the few and far between) will start rolling our eyes... :-)

Y'know, I think I might have run across that book... Lemme check *rummaging* Hmm, maybe not. I was so certain I had seen something to do with War of the Fae... well, let me know about it if you want. You can find me on Goodreads :-)

  2. Those who have regularly followed my blog know I'm not normally a fan of paranormal romance, but Ariel Tachna had a M/M vampire romance series I really loved, and there is, of course, the Pact Arcanum by Arshad Ahsannudin. Oddly enough, also a M/M vampire romance ... *scratches head* What is wrong with me?? Heheh.

  3. One of my favorite female characters in a book who I think is strong and inspiring is Jo from Little Women.

    1. It's been so long since I read those books - I just vaguely remember something about one of the sisters getting tuberculosis and Jo cutting off her hair to sell it. But someone commented on a site that Jo said at one point that she read for a ridiculously short period of time (was it two days?) until her eyes got tired and she was then "tired of books" and we all had a good laugh over her lack of reading endurance...
